METER READER / PLANT OPERATOR

NOTICE OF CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION

The City of the Village of Indian Hill, Ohio will conduct a Civil Service examination to establish an eligibility list for the position of Meter Reader/Plant Operator in the Public Works/Water Works Department. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus one-year of laboratory or mechanical maintenance experience. This position also requires a minimum Class II Water Operators License through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Applicants who fail to meet the minimum qualifications may be rejected.

This is an hourly position eligible for overtime. Hourly range is $22.95 to $32.19 based on qualifications. Excellent benefit package includes eleven paid holidays and vacation accruals based on years of service credit for those candidates who have prior service with other governmental units in Ohio.

FULL-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

The City of the Village of Indian Hill, Ohio is accepting applications for a full-time Water Works Administrative Assistant. The position is responsible for maintaining records of the Water Works utility customers which include meter reading, consumption records, billing invoices and processing of payments and deposits; issues shut off notices and notifications regarding emergency water shutoffs and other water main projects; performs all customer service related duties related to the water billing functions by answering incoming calls, directing walk-in customers and responding to citizen complaints. Coordinates and schedules customer work orders and issues fire hydrant permits and meter applications. In addition, the position assists other administrative assistants with income tax collection as needed.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Must have ability to attend monthly after hour meetings.

An Associate's Degree in Accounting or closely related field preferred with demonstrated experience in accounting software applications. Two years of work experience in general accounting or office administration is required. Applicants must possess strong verbal and written communication skills as the position interacts continuously with residents, councilmembers, vendors and staff. Applicants must possess willingness to be a team player and work collaboratively. Applicants must be organized, detailed-oriented and effectively prioritize workloads. Must have extensive computer knowledge and strong computer skills -- particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint -- are essential to the position.

Salary range is $52,000 to $67,980 based on qualifications. Water Works Administrative Assistant

 

PART TIME ARBORETUM SEASONAL WORKER

The City of the Village of Indian Hill, Ohio is accepting applications for a Part-time Arboretum Seasonal Worker. The position assists the Rowe Arboretum Manager in beautifying and maintaining the landscape and garden areas of the Stanley M. Rowe Arboretum. The job responsibilities include - maintenance of trees and shrubs and other improvements and repairs to the grounds; assists in the care and maintenance of the Arboretum Center; assists in researching, installing and labeling new plant material; and, assists in managing volunteers, visitors and tour groups.

High School diploma or equivalent and valid Ohio driver's license. Must have ability to obtain ODA pesticide commercial applicators license upon employment. Experience in formal garden care, propagation of plants and maintenance of mechanical equipment is preferred. Plant identification skills is helpful. Applicants must have a high degree of integrity, maturity, initiative and self-motivation. Applicants must possess willingness to be a team player and work collaboratively and be organized and detailed-oriented to effectively prioritize workloads. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to the position due to communicating with volunteers and visitors.
